United Way of Kershaw County
2008 Easter Project
Kershaw County employees express their care
and concern for others by participating in the United Way “Be a
Bunny” program. “This project exemplifies the old adage, it is
better to give than to receive”, says project coordinator, Pam
Spivey. “One of the goals of United Way is to match needs with
resources, adds Pam. Three hundred Easter baskets have been
delivered throughout Kershaw County. Betty Nestico of Ahlstrom
shares, “We just get so excited and have such a good time making
these baskets each year. Our employees volunteer for this project
and their gift comes from the heart. They strive to make the
recipient happy.” Recipients include individuals from three
United Way Partner agencies, Council on Aging, Family Resource
Center, and the Board of Disabilities. Also served were 132
children from the Kershaw County School District. Baskets were
filled by the employees of Yutaka, Cogsdill, Elgin Fine Chemicals,
New South, INVISTA, UTi, Ahlstrom, Mundy, BlueCross/ Blue Shield,
KCMC, Alpine Agency and Carter, Terry and Company Investments.
DeRoyal Textiles financially covered the cost of running the
program. |
