2008-2009 Supporting Seniors

Goal:                             Insure that older persons enjoy economic, physical and social

                                      well being 

Definition Focus:            Our focus will be adults age 55 and above who can not help themselves, starting with the most needy and including those who “fall between the cracks.” 

Major barriers:          Fixed/limited income

                                    Lack of services- especially in rural communities

                                    Lack of awareness-No one place/person to seek services 

Hope:                   Seniors in Kershaw County will enjoy a  quality of life that meets their needs through a wide continuum of services and living environments 

Emphasis:                     VOLUNTEERISM

                                                Seniors helping seniors

                                                Youth community services

                                                Home repair projects 

Priorities:                    1.  Education/Awareness
