United Way of Kershaw County

Mobile Nutrition Center

The Mobile Nutrition Center, launched in 2017, is a mobile food pantry dedicated to delivering healthy, nutritious foods directly to communities in Kershaw County’s food deserts. By eliminating barriers such as transportation and income, the MNC ensures that food reaches the people who need it most.

Our Mission

We believe everyone deserves access to fresh, wholesome food. Through strong community partnerships, the MNC distributes farm-fresh produce, quality store-bought items, and rescued grocery products, including:

  • Fresh vegetables and fruits

  • Meats and poultry

  • Whole grain pastas and rice

  • Baked goods and pantry staples

Our Impact

Since its creation, the Mobile Nutrition Center has:

  • Distributed over 400,000 pounds of food

  • Served more than 60,000 Kershaw County residents

  • Maintained 10 Distribution Sites and 4 Fixed Pantry Sites across the county

By bringing healthy food directly to neighborhoods, we are reducing hunger, improving nutrition, and building stronger, healthier communities.

Why It Matters

Food insecurity impacts families, seniors, and children every day. Many live miles away from the nearest grocery store or lack reliable transportation. The MNC closes this gap by delivering fresh, healthy foods right where people live—making nutritious meals possible for everyone.
