One SC Fund Grants Kershaw County Nonprofits $65,000

Kershaw County, SC - The One SC Fund has announced that Kershaw County has been approved for $65,000 in the first round of funding for COVID-19 Response. The funds will be used to respond to food, shelter, health, and nonprofit sustainability needs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. The following agencies will receive funds: Mental Health America of Kershaw County, Christian Community Ministries, Mount Moriah Soup Kitchen, Food for the Soul, Kershaw County Council on Aging, New Day Transitional Shelter, and the Mobile Nutrition Center. The United Way of Kershaw County is serving as the local fiscal agent and is charging no administrative fee ensuring that 100% of these funds go to address the needs of those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The One SC Fund: COVID-19 Response is a partnership between SC Grantmakers Network, Together SC, and the United Way Association of SC. The Kershaw County One SC Fund Team submitted a collaborative grant application for our community. The Team, made up of 16 community leaders in Kershaw County is seeking to meet the needs of those impacted by COVID-19 in our county. This team continues to work together to prioritize the needs of the community while developing a plan to not only address the impact of the virus on Kershaw County citizens but also the ongoing efforts to educate, inform and encourage the community to act responsibly and curb the spread of the v
